Arcoora sees ecosystem restoration as a way of life that starts with connection and deep listening.

We believe that to be able to respond appropriately to what the world asks of us we first have to go inside ourselves, to know ourselves through a process of self inquiry, so that we can be aware of our own presence and also the ways that we get in the way of being able to respond. This is the space where our inner world meets the so-called external world, where ‘self’ meets ‘other’.

We believe we are on a journey home. Home to an embodied sense of oneness with all nature and existence. From this embodied experience we know ourselves as a part of the ecology that we long to restore. From this perspective we can see the great wisdom of an ancient earth and the irreplaceable intelligence of its complex ecological systems.

We are humbled. We are allowing ourselves to grieve all that has been lost and celebrate all that we can serve to restore and preserve.

We start where we are. We encourage everyone to do the same. We live on the country whose traditional custodians are the Gulli-Bul Gurri of the Bundjalung Nation, Yoway! We are listening and learning how to care for country.

We are exploring ways to create local food resilience and regenerative systems to substantially and rapidly reduce our ecological footprint.

We are healing in community and learning how to honour and reintegrate the members of our society - the elderly, children, women, ethnic and gender minority groups - who have been disrespected, disadvantaged and experienced trauma as a result of social injustice.

Arcoora is an Arts and Ecology training ground. We train in the inner and outer arts of ecological, social and human wellbeing.

We are students and disciples of this infinitely awe-inspiring earth.

May the earth heal from the great sicknesses of our times and may humans be present to the beautiful dance of life.
